Putting Bums on Seats
One of the key business objectives of the website is to collect as many email addresses as possible. There are two key problems to be tackled:
- Providing a web based mechanism for collecting the email addresses
- How to create an incentive for people to provide their email address
The first problem has been solved for you. The system allows any visitor to the website to create their own login as shown in the mock up website below. This form is configurable by the website manager. For example, if you do not want to ask for their mobile number it is purely a matter of you not clicking a tick box next to the data item 'Mobile'.

The second problem of creating an incentive requires some action on your part though we would make this suggestion. Run a competition whereby to enter an individual has to visit your website and enter their email address, create a user and optionally other details. £50 worth of free drink might attract people.
We would suggest publicising the competition by:
- Starting a chain email encouraging people to enter the competition
- Advertising the competition with posters at your venue
- Advertising the competition on your website
- Advertising the competition with flyers at the local university (esp. Fresher's Week)
